New Release

Book coverStaff Planning in a Time of Demographic Change identifies the issues related to the large number of expected retirees in libraries and information management organizations over the next five to ten years. Practitioners, researchers, and educators discuss the situation and the urgent need for action that will ensure that libraries and information management organizations can provide the education, training, and proper work environment for library and information management professionals and staff.

News Release

May 13, 2003 PricewaterhouseCoopers and Whitmell & Associates were the unanimous choice to develop the Ontario Digital Library's business plan. Eighteen firms with impeccable qualifications bid on the proposal. When the smoke cleared, the members of the special committee nominated by the library community to do the work were unanimous in their choice. The winning joint application showed remarkable attention to the advocacy and marketing objectives of the plan and to the audiences who will benefit from the creation of the project.

Committee representatives of all sectors from school and public to college and university were pleased. "The importance every one of these applicants saw in this project was impressive," said ODL Steering Committee Chair Peter Rogers. "There is an enormous amount of energy and expertise in the winners and we look forward with great anticipation to the results of their work." The plan is to be completed the fall of 2003.
